According to Misty’s website, she is the third African American female soloist and first in two decades at ABT. She took her first ballet class at the late age of 13 and went en pointe within three months. Misty was offered a full scholarship in 2000 to attend ABT’s Summer Intensive Program and was selected to join ABT’s Studio Company. She joined ABT as a member of the Corps De Ballet in 2001 and was promoted to Soloist in 2007.
